The mission, vision, and ministry of Children Desiring God is to spread a passion for the supremacy of God in all things so that the next generation may know and cherish Jesus Christ as the only One who saves and satisfies the desires of the heart. We want millions in every generation to set their hope in God. To that end, we aim to fuel spiritual desire by producing God-centered, Bible-saturated, Christ-exalting resources and by equipping parents and churches working in partnership to instruct the mind, engage the heart, and nurture the faith of the next generations.
The Gospel Story for Kids is a unique, three-year program that helps churches and families ground children in the gospel story from Genesis to Revelation. Children who began this program at age three will have learned and absorbed the gospel story from Genesis to Revelation three complete times. At each age level children are taught the gospel through age-appropriate illustrations, activities, coloring pages, object lessons, and memorization using the Gospel Story Sunday school curriculum, an illustrated children’s storybook Bible, The Gospel Story Bible, and two family-friendly devotionals, Long Story Short: Ten-Minute Devotions to Draw Your Family to God (OT) and Old Story New: Ten-Minute Devotions to Draw Your Family to God (NT-available October 2012).
Child Evangelism Fellowship® (CEF) is a Bible-centered, worldwide organization that is dedicated to seeing every child reached with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, discipled and established in a local church. CEF has many different ministries for children, but the three primary ones are the Good News Club®, the 5-Day Club® and the Truth Chasers Club™ (formerly CEF Mailbox Club).
The curriculum exists to support the goals of Family and Children's Ministry by producing a curriculum which is utilized to assist parents in the biblical instruction of their children. The purpose statement of Family & Children's Ministries can be stated as: A commitment to teach the entire counsel of God with the conviction that "all Scripture is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work".
